Coach Katie M

Coach Katie was born and raised on Long Island. Her mother’s family came to the United States from England & Ireland and are huge Glasgow Celtic fans. Since her mother’s family was so into soccer, her father decided to put Katie and all of her siblings into youth soccer.  Katie started playing soccer when she was just three years old and continues to play competitively today!

Coach Katie was the captain of her high school varsity soccer team which went on to win the Long Island Championship in 2004! Her favorite soccer players are Abby Wambach and Roy Keane (who used to play for Manchester United and Ireland). She has a niece and 2 nephews to whom she has been teaching soccer for the past 16 years. In addition to soccer, Katie is an avid runner. She has completed seven full marathons (26.2 miles) and nine half marathons (13.1 miles), and loves to stay active and exercise everyday.

In addition to coaching with Pro Soccer Kids, Katie also plays soccer in the Long Island Ladies Soccer League for a women’s team on eastern Long Island. She loves to watch soccer and usually roots for Manchester United along with Glasgow Celtic and has been lucky enough to see both teams play in both the US and in Canada with her family.

Coach Katie says, “I have so much fun coaching soccer with Pro Soccer Kids. The kids are excited to learn and they work really hard during class. The parents are so supportive and the kids are so grateful; it makes each class worth it to know that I am making a difference!”

Parent Feedback: “Katie started and ended class on time consistently every week. She always makes it fun for our child, showing excitement and energy, which is contagious. She always addresses my child by his name, Nicholas. At such a young age, Katie absolutely has the children perform age appropriate activities. Soccer balls are incorporated in 95% of he soccer class, every time. The kids are always active and moving, unless placed on the mat to create more structure. I would absolutely recommend Coach Katie to all of my friends, with children. My wife and I would be delighted to see her as our child’s coach next season. Thank you for making it such a wonderful environment coach Katie.”
